Football Dimensions FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions: Football Ground & Pitch Dimensions
Under IFAB Law 1, standard international pitches measure between 100m and 110m (110–120 yd) in length and 64m to 75m (70–80 yd) in width. Top-tier competitions including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and FIFA World Cup standardize at exactly 105m × 68m (115 yd × 74.4 yd).
Line Thickness Rule
All boundary markings must be of equal width and are legally part of the area they enclose. A ball on the line is legally in play.
Statutory Governing Authority
Dimensional tolerances are codified under the official rulebook of the governing authority (Football) and applied at international championship level.
